Take a breath, then get back in there.
It’s been so busy lately. Not that I’m complaining at all, I honestly feel both lucky and accomplished. None of it is coming without effort, but also people are being generous and I’m fortunate for that.

For as long as almost anyone around these parts can remember, once a year, we all take a few minutes, sit down in front of the TV and scream some weird stuff about phones at it. This utterly bizarre ritual is called Telemiracle, an all-nighter telethon by the good Kin around these parts. The fundraiser raises millions every year for special needs equipment, helping people maintain or improve their mobility and quality of life, as well as funding medical travel expenses. It's quite the tradition, I really recommend you try it. In fact. ..
I made the comment on my weeklyish whiteboard last week - I was supposed to take November off and work on some new material. Then a couple of Saskatoon shows popped into my schedule.
As I mentioned in my last post, it was a week on the road. I was in Saskatoon/Dakota Dunes for some training through work. I learned a lot about communicating with people with many different styles and connected with a lot of people within my industry (insurance, exciting, I know). On my way back, I swung into Saskatoon and met up with Barry James McKay at Winston’s Pub for their weekly Open Mic. It was a great time, and I met some awesome people while I was there. Can’t wait to get back up that way again soon!
It’s been a busy couple of weeks in my world. Let’s get caught up on what I’ve been up to and what I have coming up next!
I've been sick for the past week or so. Most annoyingly, it's double tapping - and occasionally triple tapping - me and my ability to make music. First, I've got a nasty earache from it, and occasionally my ear is filling with fluid. So it's been hard to hear stuff and do music stuff. I'm also struggling with a sore throat that's affecting my singing/kazooing. It gave me a nice gravelly rasp when I played at Bushwakker, but it's hard to practice and hit my notes. And there have been a bunch of days that have just been exhausting - the third tap.
