A New Year update

It's been over a month since my last post, and that's far too long. As mentioned in my last post, I've been contemplating moving this blog to another platform but after some consideration and research, I think it's best to leave it right here. My motivation to move it was driven by the thought of monetization, but I really don't think that a barely regionally known kazooist blogging about his shows is really a monetizable gig. Besides, this is more a promotional item than something to earn off of.

Hey, let's go to TeleMiracle!

For as long as almost anyone around these parts can remember, once a year, we all take a few minutes, sit down in front of the TV and scream some weird stuff about phones at it. This utterly bizarre ritual is called Telemiracle, an all-nighter telethon by the good Kin around these parts. Last week was a busy one!

As I mentioned in my last post, it was a week on the road. I was in Saskatoon/Dakota Dunes for some training through work. I learned a lot about communicating with people with many different styles and connected with a lot of people within my industry (insurance, exciting, I know). On my way back, I swung into Saskatoon and met up with Barry James McKay at Winston’s Pub for their weekly Open Mic. It was a great time, and I met some awesome people while I was there. Can’t wait to get back up that way again soon!
